  • Audience 9.4 - I love recordings like this! Super loud but not distorted, and right in your face like your sitting on Rory’s side of the PA. • Soundboard 9.4 - A lovely capture that was broadcast over the air but this sounds like a pre-broadcast tape and it’s excellent. I especially like how the atmosphere of the event was maintained, it’s not a sterile sounding mix. • Audience 8.8 - This is a well rounded recording that delivers most of what is required to ensure a show remains worthy of repeat listens. The only real limitations I could discern are a slight “noisiness” somewhere between the upper mid band and the high band frequencies that are more noticeable during cymbal crashes – and even then it’s minimal. Maybe another critical observation is the overall audio mix coming from the stage is not ideal, it’s not bad, but it’s not as guitar/vocal prominent as you might be used to, again even that is being overly critical because it’s also not that bad. This is a good tape that may not satisfy the perfectionists out there but will take care of the rest of us (me included!). • FM Broadcast 9.8 - Just about as good as it can get, this captures the moment and freezes it forever in such granular detail that it feels like you are sitting right next to Dickie’s amp. It makes you appreciate his playing like never before. I mean, I play the guitar, but I have no concept of how you turn it into an extension of yourself to the degree that it is practically impossible to make even the slightest mistake. Not that his playing is perfection, it almost is, but just that he uses the instrument to convey so much feeling that it is impossible even to tell if he ever misses a note or phrases something wrong. Does that make sense? NOTE: The artwork shows disc two with only the last two tracks but the set has been tracked to include "Jessica" and "The Way Love Goes" on disc 2...so the artwork will not be changed to reflect the song order it just is what it is. • Audience 8.8 - This is a good capture that definitely helps you decipher what both guitars are doing, and that’s most welcome. • Soundboard 9.2 - A nice and tight sound with excellent presence and tone on guitar, clear up front vocals, and nice placement of bass and drums just off to one side and behind adding to the stereo effect.  Now, I may be mistaken about this being a board tape or not, for me the audience might be the clue here. I hear them in the background as if they were bleeding into an onstage or close mic from stage front. That being sad a competent and devoted taper may have made this capture and if that is true, that person should receive a medal of commendation! • Audience 9.6 - Stunning! • Audience 9.2 - The first show of the 2024 tour and it’s a real banger! Great audience tape capturing the feel of the show, but with nice dynamics and the magnificent P.A. of The Stones helps quite a lot in getting such a good capture. • Audience 8.6 - This old tape has recently gotten a much needed facelift. It’s as if 40 years of grime were wiped away. • Soundboard 9.4 - A biting and aggressive sounding recording that really works great for the 1994 version of Black Sabbath. I personally enjoy rediscovering this band because after Mob Rules I kind of lost track of their career. • Audience 9.3 - This is what I would call a definitive release in that I think if you wanted to know what Sabbath was in ’87 you can use this as a reference. For one thing, it sounds great – and another reason is because it sounds like the band is doing what it had in mind with the line-up and sound. A new direction maybe, but in the same way that maybe Technical Ecstasy was also a new direction. It’s still Sabbath, the bone structure is all there, but the smile has changed…and it has a place in the discography. • Studio Recording - This is actually a recent album (digital download only) of a band that first formed in Germany in 1969, and I knew absolutely nothing about them. Turns out they are really good! Their stock in trade is playing familiar progressive 70’s rock arrangements with the same vintage equipment used in their 70’s prime, but recording with modern facilities to get a full, powerful sound. I would say mission accomplished because this is quite good, and not only good but the fact that some of their older material is here in a reworked fashion that does it justice...which is kinda rare to find these days. • Audience 8.9 - This sounds WAY much better than I remember it sounding, but then I first heard this show about 25 years ago so I guess it’s quite possibly a new source or an amazing remastering. Either way, this is certainly VERY worthy of appearing in your collection as it captures that open air festival vibe, and the band…Gilmour is inspired as his solos pierce the air with ferocity and guile. Bass sounds right on point here, and drums are perfectly balanced and placed in the mix just behind the others so to give those sounds center stage. Keys are much more present during the quieter passages, but they have a nice feel to them. All in all, this is great great great stuff.
