• Soundboard 9.8 - I remember a few of the radio hits this band had, but honestly I never gave them a fair shake. Now I know what I was missing. Damn! At times I even think this band may have studied Frank Zappa, their stage banter is the giveaway. Sound quality is exceptional. 10cc 1975 American Tour Santa Monica Civic Center Santa Monica, California, USA Wednesday November 26th, 1975 Track List: Disc 1 01. Introduction (1:31) 02. • Audience 8.5 - A decent recording that stays pretty much in the middle of the spectrum in a mildly compressed fashion…so highs are not too high and lows are not boomy.  That does take away some of the dynamics of the sound, but at least you get reasonably decent sonic clarity. 10cc Venue: Koseinenkin Hall, Tokyo, Japan Date: 4 Oct 1977 Disc 1 1 -The Second Sitting For The Last supper 2 -You've Got a Cold 3 -Honeymoon With B Troop 4 -Wall Street Shuffle 5 -People In Love 6 -Band intro 7 -Art For Art's Sake 8 -Ships Don't Disappear In The Night (Do They) 9 -I'm Mandy Fly Me 10 -Marriage Bureau Rendezvous 11 -Good Morning Judge Disc 2 1 -Feel The Benefit 2 -Waterfall 3 -The Things We Do For Love 4 -I'm Not In Love 5 -Modern Man Blues Eric Stewart - Vocals, Guitar, Grand Piano & Keyboard Graham Gouldman - Vocals, Guitar & Bass Guitar Rick Fenn - Backing Vocals, Guitar & Bass Guitar Tony O'Malley - Backing Vocals (lead on AFAS), Piano & Keyboard Stuart Tosh - Backing vocals, Drums & Percussion Paul Burgess - Drums & Percussion

  • Audience 8.8 - Tapers used good gear, because even though they sound middle of the venue somewhere, it is a strong capture giving nice depth and clarity. So, loads of headroom and atmosphere, a bit far back, but strong, clear, with depth all in all very nice. For those who do not know, this band is an offshoot of Roxy Music featuring Phil Manzanera and Brian Eno (Simon Phillips on drums).
  • Audience 8.8/Soundboard 9.3 - Very good audience source for the Philly show, perhaps maybe just somewhat lacking in bottom end and of course it’s denser than the clean channel mix of a board tape or broadcast but for 1984, I don’t know I think it’s pretty good. The Cleveland Agora show is excellent quality. Original price was: $75.00.Current price is: $60.00.
Comprised of mostly live shows, some studio outtakes, and 90% soundboard (one audience tape, but even that could be a board tape albeit of average quality). Only the one disc is what I would call average quality the rest is excellent. • SDBRD 8.9 - I would have rated this higher but I am not thrilled with the way it is mixed – to my ears too dry and thin. It is perfectly clear, very bright and slamming though, but I need more “atmosphere” and this recording is a PURE board feed. I mean, it’s awesome don’t get me wrong.
  • SDBRD 9.8  - Almost absolutely perfect, like you get both guitars in their own space so you can hear what each player is doing perfectly. This is how I prefer to listen to ACDC!
  • Aud 8.5 and PRO RADIO 9.6  - The Brisbane is a raucous, loud, crashing kind of show/recording that gives one a sense of sitting on the side of the stage and watching them. The BBC material is awesome!
  • FM Radio 9.4 - Pretty slammin’ stuff here. The band is pretty hot around this time, very confident, with a good set list. Occasional static does make a presence on this tape, but it kind of lurks behind the music rather than over the top of it.
  • FM Broadcast  8.8 - Once you get past the first song which has some channel dropouts, it’s all systems go full tilt boogie for reals. This is just flat out awesome!
  • Audience  8.6 - A decent capture here, it sure sounds like a master source was used, there’s no tape noise at all and all the highs are perfectly intact.
  • Soundboard 9.6 - From the very first notes, you know this one is going to be one helluva ride, and it delivers!
  • Soundboard  9.5 - Ass-kicking greatness!
  • SDBRD pre-FM source 9.4  - Legendary for the pristine sound quality but let’s not forget that the late 70’s was ACDC at their best. This is one for the books.
  • Audience 9.0 - This rating is representing a lot more than strictly audio fidelity, because truth be told it’s more of an 8.7 for sound, but the show, and the crowd, and the atmosphere…simply incredible! It’s also important to note that this show is the last live recording of Bon Scott.
  • Audience  8.7 - This is a very bright and clear recording from close to the stage. Loads of electrifying atmosphere – you literally are planted right in between the tapers close to the stage and you really sense that.
  • SDBRD 8.8 - A solid one, albeit there’s some tape hiss present, and vocals are a little muddied in the mix but it’s still a really good and anyone can appreciate.
  • Soundboard 8.8 - OK, so yeah this board tape is extremely clear but it suffers from the sterility of most board tapes, and when the band is ACDC, you really need that electric atmosphere a rowdy audience provides. I also found this tape kind of missing some “guts”, but, if you want to hear everything, all guitars and drums, vocals (including backing vocals), then you can’t miss with a clean board tape that allows everything to be present. AC/DC B'ginnings Club Shaumberg IL Broadcast Live on WJKL, Elgin IL 1978-09-14 1. -Intro 2. -Live Wire 3. -Problem Child 4. -Sin City 5. -Gone Shooting 6. -Bad Boy Boogie 7. -Rock and Roll Damnation 8. -The Jack 9. -Dog Eat Dog 10. -Rocker 11. -Let There Be Rock
  • Audience 7.8 - A recording that slowly gets a little better after the first song or two but I have to tell you – for historical purposes this recording is the first time Brian Johnson appears on tape with the band (live, not studio). I think he does a fine job filling the spot too, but that’s up to every fan to decide.
  • Audience 8.3 - At first, you would have expected this to sound awful, being an awfully loud band playing in a small club with primitive gear…and it’s not exactly perfect but for what it is it is DAMN good!  Guitars up front, vocals a but buried, drums reasonably clear, but you get a real sense of the action and the sound is not bad at all.  Historically, this is absolutely a must for any ACDC fan.
  • Audience 8.8 - At first my thought was that this was a recording for a broadcast because even though it sounds like an audience recording, that may just mean that the station used room mics to capture the concert. What tipped me off to the fact that this is indeed just a really good audience tape is the clapping near the mic after the songs. • Audience  8.8 - A solid recording all the way through. Jamming!
  • Audience  8.5 - Lively sound for the live portion, the demos are “studio” pro.

    AEROSMITH – Backstage Pass 1974-1977 (3CD)

Original price was: $28.49.Current price is: $26.49.
CD 1 - Audience 7.7 - A very rare tape that only recently surfaced. Hard to complain when presented with something as rare, so just be aware that the tape was recorded in the middle of the venue and features a boomy, echoey sound. CD 2 - A very good recording, clear and immersive, you can really get into this one. CD 3 Surprisingly clear, a welcome addition to the not so well documented 1977 period where the band starts to really fray around the edges (and in the middle!) but that is not evident here – this is the band in fine form.
  • Audience  8.1 - Small club sound, a little bit muffled but guitars, vocals and harmonica and even piano come through fine and all in all I think once your ears adjust you can enjoy this. A wild night of rock and roll for sure!
  • Pro Radio Broadcast  9.1 - Legendary WCBN live broadcast when the band were peaking and sounding so good. What happened?
  • Soundboard 9.9 - This nearly brought me to tears. I always knew this band could reach the highest level of quality, in performance, in tone, in showmanship, and here it is. Yeah, sure, I know what you are thinking: “it’s mid 80’s Aerosmith, it’s the doldrums of rock, it’s a washed up bunch of druggies” but I have to tell you that if this marks a “comeback” then it’s the most amazing comeback I have ever heard. I’ve heard tons of live Aerosmith and I take this show over ALL of them. Just listen to how everyone plays off each other, how well they know each other it's like the magic has returned and they know it. Aerosmith The Orpheum Theater Boston, MA. • Soundboard  8.4 - A bit compressed, some obvious nr was used in mastering but still not too bad with everything evenly mixed.
  • Audience  9.1 - Excellent dynamics, bass is tight, a good warm and clear recording!
  • FM Broadcast  8.8 - A fantastic early document!
  • FM Broadcast  9.3 - Crisp and airy, with hardly any complaints but if I were to do so, I would have toned down the guitars actually as I found sometimes they were actually too up front…some people would prefer that though. A great one no matter.
  • Audience 8.4 - They should call this tape “Noise In The Attic” ha ha! Actually, I am being very tough here, it’s a bright tape, it favors high end but is not too screechy…I just need more low end personally. That being said – vocals are in the front here, followed by Joe Perry, so that is crucial to this being a worthwhile listen. Taper has to hide his gear once or twice, so you occasionally hear the inside of his coat. Not too many 1975 period tapes out there, I am thankful for this one…you will be too, especially when the coast is clear and taper brings the mic back out (makes for a really refreshing audio moment!). • Audience 8.7 - It’s difficult to express sometimes to people who maybe did not start collecting until the digital age what it is like for us old cats to be listening again to a recording we first heard on cassette…and could barely listen to they were so awful, muddy, gen’d down, etc. – and now they show up like maidens to the prom. This old recording sounds like years of mud and grime were wiped away, still not great but man what a difference! The bonus tracks from Anaheim got the same treatment but the original tape was recorded from further back so is not as good as the Detroit, but historically seems more important being that it is with Jeff Beck. I think this stuff here is like finding unpolished diamonds…maybe a little bit dirty but they are invaluable and hold beauty in and of themselves. Aerosmith Cobo Arena Detroit, MI. • Disc 1 & 2 - Audience  8.6 Disc 3 - Audience  8.9 Great sound mix here and frequency range ... you can crank this one!
  • Audience 8.9 - A very bright and lively recording with plenty of electric atmosphere. The band is “tight but loose” and quite frankly I don’t hear the weariness in Steven Tyler at all, in fact the whole band seems very comfortable here. A really really good one!
  • Audience  8.5 - 1st night ... What a treat! Really well recorded although not dynamically perfect. It is strong and very clear, and what a show it is! Get this!
